Just Magnolias - 2x2

Friday and time for Just Magnolia! This week everything is done 2x2!! What does that mean? Well you can do whatever you like on your card, any theme, just make sure you have used a Magnolia image and everything else in sets of 2's....  2 flowers, 2 buttons... get it? Easy!

Well you would think it was easy... but when I was finishing up my card I realized that I used 3 pattern papers! duh! So I am counting the band across the middle as a ribbon ok? Cheating I know.. but hey I have had the flu this week - so there was no way I could sit and be creative for another card by today - so I hope I am allowed one cheat day... hey even Weight Watchers allows that from time to time :0)

Now I was really excited that I got to ink up a new Magnolia! I just love this one! Being in Texas I just had to break out and buy her don't you agree! Yee Haw! I found some fabulous papers in my stash this last week, totally forgot about having them, and knew they were meant for this Tilda - these papers are from Creative Imaginations, I adore the pink and brown cowgirl theme. I sewed them all down with a random stitch after inking the edges of everything.  Tilda is colored with my copics and then high lighted with white gel pen. She is cut out with Nesties label 17 and inked as well. Then I got a chance to use one of my favorite sentiment stamps... "Sending you a big ol' Texas Hug!"  got this at a local stamp store... love it!

For the challenge part I added two flowers, two buttons, two pink rhinestones  and wink wink... two ribbons..LOL

Now ride on over to Just Magnolias and see the other DT cards and join us for some 2x2!

Noel Charity

Hello - Today I wanted to make sure and show you a card I did for the Stampavie DT Blog. This is Noel Charity – Isn’t she just precious? For my card I wanted to really make her pop, and give her some depth like she has actually walked up to the porch and is knocking on the front of the card.

I think I did it… what do you think? She is colored with my Copics, and then highlighted with stickles and white puff paint for the snow.
How cool is the door? That is real wood, a new thing to me, I found sheets of real wood at a local craft store, I stamped the image right onto the wood, and then cut the door out. For Charity on the wood I shaded in with a gray color to give more of a shadow look once I pop dotted the cut out Charity image. The papers I used are from My Minds Eye “O Christmas Tree” collection, and more of that wood paper. Layers are pop dotted as well, with a border from EK Success and a satin ribbon.
Hope you enjoyed my version of Noel Charity –

Be back tomorrow for Just Magnolias....

Spoon Full of Sugar - Sparkly and Shiny!

Spoon Day! And today the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge is to make your project Sparkly and Shiny! Love that! Love Bling!

Now this card sort of makes me sad... as Hubby says this is one of those cards you just have to see in person to really "see it". Lots of Sparkle and Shine on it.

The image is Snowy and Rudolf from Stampavie - too cute, and perfect to add both Sparkle and Shine. Now if you had this in your own hands you would see that Snowy is covered with Clear Dimensional Glaze - so he shines and has shape. A real Ice look. I used my Copics, and cut out with Nesties Label 17. What do you think of that "sky" .. LOL I used a bit too dark of blue - then went back with the blender and removed a ton of it! I think it has a cool look - so cool that I created a mat with a piece of white card stock that I colored the edges of and removed ink. The papers - That shiny corrugated bronze paper and the red glitter paper are both from K&Company's Christmas Special collection I got last year. The glittered dot is a scrap. I punched the edge of the glitter paper with an EK Success border punch, and then ran a sentiment ribbon across the entire card.

Now join the Sparkle and Shiny fun at Spoon Full of Sugar! Don't worry if you can't capture all the bling in your photo... we all are having problems with that! LOL

Stampavie Challenge - Die Cuts anyone?

It is time for the Stampavie Challenge! And this time we get to play with our die cuts! We all love them, we all have a ton of them, so this is pretty easy challenge this week -

Me... I used my Nesties - :0)
I started with the the Sugar Cookie Bazzil Card stock, matted some GORGEOUS Websters Pages. These normally would be papers I would put into my stash and pet once in a while ;0) But I am trying hard to use all of my pretty things and not hold on to them forever. So I matted them onto black cards stock that I have distressed, then sewed together. These papers are so gorgeous that I knew I didn't want layers covering them, so that was it, then I went to work on the Die Cuts and what image I wanted to use.

Noel Joy seemed perfect to match the papers. I colored with my Copics, then cut out with Nesties Labels 17, and inked the edges with distressing ink. Matted with the black card stock distressed. I then wanted it to have a vintage snow look to it, so I sprayed the image with Smooch Spritz - Vanilla - I think I like how that came out.. LOL

For some added "Die Cuts" I cut out one of the Fancy Tags - cut it in half and used it as a sort of decoration behind the image. Then added some fun embellishments. Black metal adhesive dots.

For the bottom of my easel card I did it all over again, except this time I used the JustRite sentiment "Fill Each day with Joy" - Seemed to really go well with the Stampavie Sarah Kay image "Noel Joy" -

So now pop on over to the Stampavie DT Blog and see the other DT Die Cut cards and join us for some fun!

Animal Crackers - Sunny Fall Afternoon

Now it is barely Fall... in fact it is still kind of hot outside, but you can feel a bit of difference in the air, and we are now starting to have cool fronts. Even if they are only cooling things down a couple of degrees with each front.

Yesterday afternoon I went out and tried to get some photos... some were interested, some were napping...
Felipe was enjoying the shade of the Oak tree... doesn't he look comfortable?
Cali and Mirta on the other hand were hiding behind one of the much smaller trees. Any shade is nice when you are trying to get an afternoon nap -
I love this photo I got of Pepita - really shows her personality. Super sweet, and just adorable.
Can you believe Marisa is only a couple of weeks old? Man... the nickname Legs is really fitting her! Sometimes we call a newborn a fun nick name and then as we get to know them, and they start growing they just really don't fit. Well - LEGS is still sticking with Marisa! She is gorgeous though! And you should see her run with those legs - :0)
I stood and laughed at Frankie for a while, he may be a good looking Buck - - - but he got lost while on the way to the line for smarts!! He has been working for a couple of weeks to get this dead limb to break so he can use it to scratch... Well today he finally snapped it! Then he couldn't figure out how to make it work like he wanted. It was so light weight he just kept flipping it around - Good thing he is handsome and produces cute babies!
I mean common, can these two be any cuter? Jill the white spot, and Jack the buckskin - are growing like weeds. They are so fun to watch. I really don't think that these kids know how to walk at all... they just have springs in their legs and bounce everywhere. They still don't run to me when I call... but they don't mind being held once I catch them. So we are moving in the right direction with them.
Jack wouldn't stand still yesterday for a personal photos... but Jill was very curious about the camera and was posing wonderfully. Too cute!

No Libbie and Autie photos this week... to be honest, Libbie has been a little under the weather. We think there is a chance she might be pregnant... I am hoping so!! We took her to the Doc. Thursday to see, but he didn't find any babies when he looked. So either she didn't get pregnant this time, and is going through a sort of false pregnancy --- or the babies are just so small still that he couldn't capture them on film. Fingers crossed for them to just be too small yet....  :0)    All though the whole thing just makes me a nervous wreck!!!

Have a wonderful Weekend! I'll be back on Sunday to announce my Blog Candy winner!!!

Just Magnolias - Christmas Projects!

Friday already again - weeks just flying by and now.. it is time to do Christmas projects??? WOWOW! This has to be the fastest year ever!

This week the at Just Magnolias is to have some fun and anything goes! I am going to get a bit ahead and make a Christmas project.  I pulled out my Sizzix Pillow Box die again :0)  Love Love Love that die! Twice in one week, you gonna get tired of these things?

I knew I was going to use the Graphic 45 Christmas Past papers, I found this wonderful bell pattern in the collection and it reminded me of Tilda ringing the bell stamp. I colored her with Copics to match the paper, and then stamped the image on a piece of the pattern paper that coordinates with the bell pattern paper, I paper pieced all the trim on her coat and hat. Yes.. that was some very small paper piecing! LOL But I love how that came out. I cut the image with Nesties Labels... eleven I think. and then inked the edges and all over with distressing ink.  And how do you like the scroll work behind the image? That is a Spellbinders fancy tag die that I cut in half and attached to the back of the image. Oh sprayed the card stock first with Gold Smooch Spritz. before I attached to the image.

The pattern paper is then layered with the coordinating paper, and then punched cream colored card stock with Martha's border punch, inked and then sprayed with Gold Smooch Spritz  this is so pretty and I used it all over the elements of this card.
Yes, even sprayed the sentiment - cut out with a Spellbinders tag die, inked then sprayed. I attached to the card and then covered the two little holes with sage green rhinestones.
Then all of this was attached to my sage green pillow box! Don't know who this gift is for, or what I am going to put in it, but love it anyway!

Now go and visit Just Magnolia's and see all the other DT Christmas projects!!! Really great inspiration this week!

Have a great Friday  - HUGS and -
