Donkey Day!

I have no card for today, I spent the entire evening cleaning and reorganizing my stuff. I work out of about 1/3 of our bedroom. I actually need the entire room with the quantity of "supplies" that I own. Hubby has the plans drawn up for an addition to our room that will be a craft room for me, but it has been postponed hopefully only a year. And it was getting impossible to work on my desk due to the piles, so I will spend the weekend cleaning and organizing.. yuck, rather be stamping! But I will be happier when it is done.

I have had a few request for some donkey photos.... yes NanaBeth here they are! =) I went out early this morning and snapped a few photos of the donkeys while hubby was watering and feeding. The lighting wasn't the best, it was early and the sun wasn't very high yet, but I did get a few decent shots.

First is what I am calling the Breakfast Bar.... This is Macey, Patti, Darlene and Jazz all lined up enjoying a new bale of Hay. If you listen really close you might hear some really good Donkey gossip ----

Then I caught the kids playing off to the side of the hay. Lina and Lola really do get along great and play pretty hard sometimes. This morning is was just some light "horsing" around.

Then I went to the younger pen, and found everyone just coming into the hay area to say good morning. This is JoJo and Bella . JoJo is a really dark faced little donkey, super sweet and very greedy for attention. Bella is also a really loving Donkey that has actually been a little moody lately. Hormones are really getting the best of her, as she is very pregnant. And being a first time Mom she isn't quite for sure how to handle all the things going on. JoJo is pregnant too, just not as far along.

Then I went to our third pen, this is Fancy Pants. She is really a funny Donkey... a trouble maker sometimes, but super sweet to people. She may be named Fancy Pants, but she wears the pants with what ever group she is with. So much so that she will not let any of the Jacks breed the girls, and she has a problem getting pregnant herself. We don't know if it is physical or if it is just the fact that she will not let the Jack do his business. We keep thinking she needs to be sold as a pet for someone, but we just haven't been able to actually sell her. I know ... too much heart, not enough business.

Well I hope you enjoyed a Donkey Day - and I hope to have my area done this by Sunday so next week I can get back to some fun stuff! Oh and for those that have asked and sent well wishes, my Sister came through great and was home last night. I am going to visit and take dinner over tonight. Have a great Saturday!

Warning... Don't EVER....

No Don't Ever... accidentally sew over a glue dot! Yep, really messes up not only the card you are working on, but the needle, the machine. And just really messes us your mood and happy crafting time. That was my evening last night, I "forgot" that I had used a glue dot when starting the thread thru the punches on the side of my card. When doing it I thought to myself, "now remember when you are sewing it to avoid this part" Well I didn't and almost 2 hours later I had things back and running. Man it did a number on my sewing machine! So don't ever sew over a glue dot... okay....

Ok, today's card is for my sister. I think I am safe in posting it now, cuz as I type she is getting ready to go into surgery to have her Gal bladder out. And probably won't be reading this for a day or two and by then I will have given it to her. I know this isn't a "surgery" type of get well card, but it is a new stamp I just got from Alota Rubber Stamps, and I really was wanting to ink it up, and she will get a kick out of it.

Isn't it just the cutest image for a get well card, I made sure to get the challenge of three embellishments in so it qualifies for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge this week. I stamped out the image and colored in with Copics, and white gel pen. And you can't see it in the photo but I used the clear Sakura Glaze Pen to do the thermometer, and it really shines in real life.

The floral patten paper is from Cosmo Cricket, I punched the edge with my new Fiskars Leave it to Weaver border punch and ran a scrap piece of red ribbon thru it, 1st embellishment. (yep that is where that darn glue dot is underneath). I sewed the edges... lots of time and screaming later. I attached it to the yellow base. Now the corner was pretty messed up from the sewing machine, but I was determined to save this card. So 2nd embellishment I colored in two chipboard corners from my stash with the same green as the chair and hid the big boo boo.

I then stamped the sentiment, also by Alota Rubber Stamps, and then matted with a brown piece of card stock that I stamped with my wood background stamp. It has the look of a frame, so I hung it! I glued down a red cord and then used a Colorbox Metal Adhesive dot for the "nail", the 3rd embellishment. I love this image, I got a few other with my order but do think I will need more as they are just too much fun to color in and give details to.

Well I had better run... want to check on my sister and get a couple of errands done!

Day Dreaming and Dress Up -

I hope you get my ATC today... I showed it to Hubby and after a couple of hints he got it. The Challenge today at Tilda and Friends ATC is Bits and Pieces.

"The challenge this week is to use some of those bits and pieces of card and paper which we all have lying around on our desks. We would like you to make your ATC using bits and pieces which measure no more than 1" x 2" (2.5cm x 5cm) - we won't be measuring though!"

I have plenty of left-overs so this was no problem, but I wanted to do something different. I went thru all of my Magnolia stamps and tried to get some inspiration. I then pulled out my Fiskars square squeeze punch and got myself a bunch of 1 inch squares. As they piled up they reminded me of a "quilt"! Oh I can make a crazy quilt, and place Tilda in the grass, on the quilt! I Colored Tilda with Copics and high lighted with white gel pen, then cut her out. I cut my ATC size and then place all my squares randomly onto the ATC, then cut down again. I used a dark green Sakura Glaze pen and did crazy type of stitches on each block. Now Tilda needed some pillows. I started to try and cut out a pillow shape, but then thought these large buttons had a fun look. So did you get it?

My second card is for the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge. Which was really fun this week. It is a 3-2-1 Challenge. 3- brads or buttons, 2- pattern papers, 1- flower. So I got out one of my new Sugar Nellie stamps. I picked Dress Up Maggie, cuz she looked just too fun to color it. I reached for my Copics and did her face and hands and then stopped. I need to try something new... So I pulled out my Twinkling H2O's and colored the rest of her with them. Ok, need to practice this cuz I am not happy with my results. I highlighted with the white gel pen, and Sakura Glaze Pens, but I just am not happy with it. I will be trying this again and doing lots of practice I guess. I cut her out with my Nestibilities Oval, and then matted with pink Oval scallops. I chose two piece of scraps that matched her dress and boa, then chose the base for the card out of my stash of card stock. I used some of those Cloud 9 gel stitch stickers to place around the edges of the pattern paper, I think it gives it a lace look. Now I was trying out lots of brads.....then due to the girlie theme in the card I went to my vintage buttons and found three matching pink buttons. I ran mini ribbon thru it and tied. My flower is a I think from Creative Impressions, it is a left over, but had some bling glitter and I thought it would work. I have a million primas... really I do, but not one was the right shade of pink! The sentiment is from Hanna Stamps and I think is perfect for Maggie.

Lots on the schedule today, including Bonnie Blue's full tune up. (Bonnie is my border collie, my child) Today is all of her shots, and full physical. Love her vet as he really checks her out top to bottom and makes sure she is doing ok. Hubby is off to go with us, so I am sure we will be doing some chores that he has on his list today. This one makes me giggle!!!

This one really does make me giggle! And it is a rare card, I saw the sketch, had the idea, and bam it came out just as I planned. SUPER RARE!

The sketch is a fabulous one from this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge and it's another of Katharina's Sketches, she rocks the sketches! Now as soon as I saw it I thought of this cute stamp that I purchased months back at the LSS garage sale. Cute, but hard to use. I actually cut of some of it to make it fit the card.

Isn't it too funny, love the Rubber stamp store in the center! Start your Morning shopping with a donut, go get your nails done (we know all these inks are so hard on them) Then do some much needed stamp shopping, while the cleaners next door is doing the laundry, then before you head home stop for some ice cream! A perfect shopping day! It is made by Museum of Modern Rubber. I colored it in with my copics. Then stamped out Tilda in her fashionable dress. I always dress like this when I run out to shop. =) I colored her in with Copics as well, then I high lighted with Spica Glitter Pens.

Then to the sketch, I used a sage green card stock and layered a piece of DCWV Glitter Nana's Baby Girl Nursery. LOVE IT, and I am seeing it everywhere on cards, bet it is one of their most popular lines! I zig zag stitched the edges down, and then did the same for the band up the middle. I found a scrap piece of coral pink card stock and ran both sides through my Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch. I then sewed it together, and put it all together. Tilda is put on with pop dots to give an appearance of standing in front of her favorite stores.

I then decided that because there really isn't a place for a sentiment, I would do something on the inside. LIGHT BULB! I pulled out My Favorite Things Charge set. Oh my, just so perfect! I stamped out the Celebrate in Style and Time to Shop, then the little purse and shoes. (Those are both my shopping weakness!) Colored in with copics and matted with the same green, and sewed together.

I don't know who I am going to send it too, but for now it is just standing on my desk, makes me laugh! Hope it does you too! Well off to do some blog hopping and then get my day going, have a great Wednesday!

I still am floating over the exciting news I shared yesterday! I worked on the Ismaki Challenge last night and a Thank you card made with my one and only Rachelle Anne Miller stamp seemed perfect to work with in honor of Stampavie! Although it won't be my only for long... got orders out there!

This weeks sketch is really great. My only struggle was with the vertical title. I really didn't have anything that "fit". Especially with the papers I picked from Daisy D's Sweet Baby Jane line. I loved the floral paper and it went so well with the pink and green lined paper, that reminds me of old fashioned Chenille. The bands could have been done with ribbon very easily, but the pink lines in the paper just went so well.

I stamped the lovely Penelope stamp with Brilliance Graphite Black Ink, and heat set as I was in a hurry to get it colored. =) I colored with my Copics and Twinkling H2O's. Then high lighted with my trusty white gel pen... (yes Fran, I love my pen LOL!) I cut the circle with my Nestibilities and then cut a scallop out of a bright white card stock. Now this stamp is perfect for an oval cut, but the sketch had a circle, so I held my breath and cut the circle. And love the way it came out! I used a Hanna Stamps sentiment that I curved on my block to fit the circle shape more. I "stitched" down everything with my gel pen, again =).

Now those flowers are just great aren't they! I found them at my LSS they had tons of colors and shapes. And even better I could pick and choose what I wanted and what type of leaves, all for just a dime a piece! I am so in happy with them... I do believe I need to go and get more before they are all sold out.

Today is MIL shopping day already! Once a week I take my Mother-n-law out and we run errands, hit sales, the craft stores and the grocery store. So I need to get ready and check on the donkeys and hit the road! Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Tilda is swirling now baby!

I love this Tilda. Is it the hair blowing, the rolled up jeans, the flower wreath in her hair? I don't know I just love her. So I inked her up for this weeks challenge at Tilda & Co., which was SWIRLS. Ok, love them too. =)

I am going to admit, this card is nothing like it started. I am not totally happy with it, but I am accepting it. I really didn't plan on the chipboard swirls to be heart. It happened, and it was glued down, oh well. I love the papers! Basic Grey Two Scoops is just so fun, and I love the colors of the whole line. So much so that I rarely use it, cuz I hoard it. I of course picked the swirl paper, and then two of the solid colors. I matted them with the same off white card stock that I used for the base. I then cut the edges of the mats with my fiskars scalloped scissors. Ha, yep pulled out my deco scissors, probably my first "tool" that I don't use that often any more. And I have oh I don't know 15-20 different ones! They really are a basic that I should use more. Anyway, I was going to sew down every thing... and would you believe I couldn't find my white thread!! Every color under the rainbow, but couldn't find my white! I must have pulled it out of the box to sew on one of hubby's buttons and who knows where I put it from there! So I used my white gel pen and doodled and stitched down things. The chipboard swirls are inked with Colorbox ink and then I used Stickles pink cotton candy on top. They are pretty cool looking in person. Tilda is colored with Copics and then high lighted with white gel pen. Her flowers in her hair are colored in with Sakura Glaze Pens. Love them, they are bright and shine. The "Hello" sentiment if from Fiskars Odles of Doodles set.

Well off to start my day... running late already. Gato has to go to the vet today, time for her 6 week check up. I hate when they have to give the shots to such little ones, but need to keep her healthy. (Oh and yes, I think she is a she. Told you it was hard to tell when they are so little) =)
