Animal Crackers - Breakfast is more important

Howdy -

Now I thought that I would fight the blah hot photos and get up yesterday and head out early with hubby and get some morning photos for today... didn't work out quite like I planned cuz no one was interested in me they wanted breakfast and nothing else.

I did get a glance from a couple of the young girls.. but no one budged to come say hello to me....

The guineas were not impressed by my clucking to get their attention...

But they have to eat their feed quick as the goats try and pick it out and eat it too... so far Crissy was the only one that knew I had thrown it in.

Libbie didn't like my clucking either... that just gets her all nuts and she goes crazy barking at the guineas...

They pay no attention to her... they are bigger than she is and really don't care as she is on the other side of the fence anyway... but she still thinks she is telling them off! And it makes her feel like she is doing her job in life.

Patty looked up for 1/2 a second - with a little snort while chewing.

But there isn't really much competition to eat breakfast in this pen as there are only three donkeys. Patty and Ellie Mae are good friends and share well. Black Jack has to stand aside and wait until the girls tell him it is ok to join them and eat. Shh... don't tell the girls but Hubby usually sneaks a small piece to Black Jack on the side....

OH WAIT... Frankie left his breakfast and came to say hi!!!!

Now actually he brought most of it with him, as it is really fabulous to roll around in your breakfast while it is fresh. Now if I smelled even 1/10th as bad as Frankie does I don't think I would want my breakfast to smell like me, but then again maybe the rolling around is to mask his smell with a hay smell. Man he is rank this time of year. Went out yesterday afternoon and you almost have to hold your breath to walk by and say hello. And he always comes to the fence to get a pet. I use one finger and only scratch the end of his nose... then I hold my finger out and don't touch anything until I can get inside and use Hubby's really nasty skin removing harsh soap. As it is the only thing to remove the smell. Yes he is that smelly... and really you don't want me to go into the details of why... really.

Then I found Frankie's daughter Malory...

she has decided that the best way to protect your share of hay is to nuzzle down into it. Comfortable and still having breakfast. Now is that breakfast in bed? Or bed for breakfast? BTW... the goats had left her to go and see if what the Guineas had was better. It wasn't and they were all back pretty quick.

Hubby has been working the past few days around the goat pens. First Peso got a new patio.

He needed shade, so he has the lower area to lounge and stay out of the sun. The top patio to get up high and see all of "the ladies". Then his hut is now up on a patio as well. This should help keep it from filling with water during rain, and keep the ants from making it their home. He was quite proud of his new bachelor's pad. But didn't show it here as ... breakfast was delivered...  Frankie got a new Condo Patio hut too... I think Hank is next... Hey wait all they guys are getting fancy huts first??? hmmmmm

Sergio was not interested in breakfast at all... or even slightly interested in me calling his name to get his attention away from what he did not need to be focused on...

Yes... he is really interested in the girls in the pen next to him... men....  Better get a good look now Sergio cuz I think "Dad" is just about ready to move all the young girls over to another pasture for a while. Still a little grass there, and there is nothing left in their pen. Just dirt and rocks... it is really hot and dry here.

Uh Oh... this is the look...

"PUT THE CAMERA DOWN AND GIVE US THE GOOD FEED NOW!!" I do what I am told when I get this look. LOL   They get their basic Laying crumbles feed... but I spoil them and also throw around sunflower seeds too..

I have three of the Reds laying now - and a couple more are thinking about it and following the others in the hut and going in and out the nesting boxes. So should be really having some eggs soon. Right now it takes a lot of days before a meal can be had. Wyandottes are still a little too young yet. And when they are ready I am a little concerned. They don't like hut... and will not go in it. So I am afraid they will start laying under the hut... not good! Not sure how to convince them to like the hut... hoping they will. I know I could force them in and then close up their door at night. But I wasn't doing that cuz the two groups of birds do get a little testy and didn't want a chicken fight in small spaces... sigh... wonder if I could talk Hubby into a second hut? LOL

Alrighty better get the day going. Meeting some friends for breakfast that we haven't seen in a while. Then off to get goat and chicken feed, then if there is anything left for us we will run by the grocery store... LOL kids have to have their food first you know!

Hope you have a great day -

Whimsy Challenge - Watermelon

The High Hopes Blog Hop is below...

Howdy again today -

Needed two post today for my requirements :0) This post is for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge - I have had so much fun with the Whimsy release this month!! I crafted the other day and got three cards done for the month!!! Then went to see which ones I wanted to use for which week... and realized that none of the three I made fit the challenge this month!! LOL So back to my desk to make another! But there are plenty of great images this month.

The challenge? Really tough for me... "Clean and Simple" Yep... you probably can now see why none of my "normal" cards would fit that one huh?

So here is my attempt -

I used Lia Stampz "Watermelon" too sweet of image!

Had fun coloring with my Copics (colors below) - My papers are from First Edition "Family Ties" One piece of paper - front and back. Love how that works out and matches so perfect. I did add a some white satin seam binding ribbon - had to... Simple??  Oh man it was killing me to not add more, flowers, punches, bling, pearls, buttons.. but I stopped for the challenge.

Here are the Copics I used -

Now make sure to click on over to the Whimsy Stamps Blog and see all the DT creations and then join us!!!

High Hopes Challenge - Favorite Embellishment - Peak of Release

Howdy -

We are back at High Hopes Blog with a new challenge today! Had a bit of break with the challenges for a couple of weeks.. but back with the challenge of favorite embellishment and the DT showing off peaks of the New Release!

Me.. Yesterday's post I showed off "Flyin' High Santa".. today Santa has found another mode of transportation!

"Motorin' By Santa"

Santa is just too cool isn't he? His own plane and a motorcycle! I colored with my Copics (sorry I forgot to take a photo of the colors for this one.) I went with a little larger image and lots of layers of paper. Old papers from my stash again. But I loved how the candy cane matches up. I used card stock under each layer of pattern paper. When trying to figure out the sentiment... and then came up with the layer of card stock and I stamped the new High Hopes Sentiment "Santa Claus is Coming to Town!" all the way around the edge. Love it! Must try and remember that in the future!

For my "Favorite Embellishment" for the challenge - I used my Viva Decor Glitter pen. Same as Stickles which is a favorite as well. Love how much life a little bling gives your image!

Inside of card is scraps of the front.

Great fun image for any Christmas Card! Make sure to bop on over to the High Hopes Blog and see the Challenge. All the fabulous DT inspiration... and then JOIN US in the challenge for your chance to win some High Hopes!!!

I'll be back tomorrow for TWO post... High Hopes New Release Blog Hop and the Whimsy Stamps New Release Blog Hop... told you I have been busy busy busy!!!

High Hopes Sneak Peak of New Release

Howdy -

Today is the start of lots of new release post - :0)

High Hopes is releasing some fabulous new images for Christmas! Really cute images to get you going on your Christmas Card List!

Totally love this new Santa Image - "Flyin' High Santa"

Colored with my Copics - and added touches of gold stickles and Marvy Snow Marker for the fluffy items.

For my card - I went with papers from my stash - I think these are DCWV Christmas papers - I think... lost the piece with the name on it in the mess. I sewed everything together with dark red card stock and Dark green card stock. The sentiment is also part of the new release from High Hopes - "Here Comes Santa Claus!" Love it.. I added some adhesive pearls for some bling.

Inside - basic with same papers -

Here are the Copic Colors Used -

Make sure to keep an eye on High Hopes this week as we have three days of fun planned with the new release!! I'll be back tomorrow for a new High Hopes Challenge with new image and then more on Wednesday!

Have a great day!

Animal Crackers -Only thing you can do is take a nap -

Howdy -

Only thing you can do around here in the afternoon is take a nap! That is about how we all are around here lately. Hubby is now at the point of only working outside early in the morning and then later in the evening. Just too darn hot out there!!

Jazz was taking advantage of the shade of the big oak tree and taking a little nap herself.

Macey was also taking refuge under a tree...

Would love to say in some fabulous fancy flowers... but these are weeds.. LOL Still kind of pretty in a bunch, but a pain to get rid of. In fact it is such a horrible shame, but I can't get anywhere near them. So no helping pull or mow them for me. I have some reaction to them and get nasty blisters when they touch me. So Hubby has to deal with them all on his own.. darn I SO wish I could help pull weeds.. :0)

Passed back through the backyard... had to put the dogs in before I went over to the other pens. Just hot for them and they get to panting to hard, go inside and drink till they gag, and honestly STINK! So they don't get long periods outside in the afternoons.

Yes as cute as Chica is too long out in the back yard and this girl is just stinky.

Rhett was trying hard to get my attention...

One day of taking out some stale homemade oatmeal cookies last week and this girl is a moocher forever! She didn't mind that the cookies had gotten hard - All the goats and honestly only about 4 or 5 of them like cookies - Odd.. but Rhett is ok with that - it just means more for her!

We found a long old water pipe out behind the barn... Chicken pen pole now! Since this is stronger than my old tree limbs we hung it a bit higher off the ground for the chickens... they love it early in the morning and late in the evening - up in the breeze -

Didn't take them but a few minutes to try it out -

Love this shot... look how they are all stretched out and looking around. Since higher up they can see farther and see all the donkeys out in the pasture.

One more photo... Last Saturday afternoon Hubby was out trimming the tree on one side of the house. Was rubbing on the roof and was starting to "block" the satellite. So needed a trim. Hubby would love to cut it down and plant other things. But if he did my craft room and the bedroom would jump 20 degrees in the afternoons - so it stays. Anyway back to the story... he was trimming and called me out and "bring your camera" - normally this means I found a really cool bug, the donkeys are doing something cute, or there is a bird that would make a great photo. NOPE none of the those... this is what he wanted me to "snap" a photo of - - - - -

And he let me walk under the tree to get over to the side he was on!!! Ok, so it is just a "rat snake" not dangerous... but HELLLOOO it is a SNAKE. I guess due to the heat he had gone to a cooler place up in the tree. We watched him for a while, and then he started telling me about the area and what he had planned and what he wanted to plant on that side of the house, when we turned around and looked back up... he was gone!! So I left right away and went inside!! My Momma didn't raise no fool! He stayed out and finished the tree, said that he was gone due to all the noise and movement. Uh.. taking no chances I left.

So what is the weather like where you are? I would love to take off and vacation somewhere where it isn't 100 degrees... but I couldn't leave my children to deal with it - so here we are. Watering twice a day and keeping close watch on everyone.

Got LOTS planned for post this week... so pop back often ok?

I colored with my Copics (colors below) I then picked out papers from the Carta Bella Paper Pad "Giddy Up" Papers that are so "me". Wonderful rich western colors. I then die cut out a Papertrey Ink Picket Fence twice.  Sewed down all the papers, glued down the fence. I then die cut out some leaves and punched out some Marvy tiny flowers. Centered them with Gold Vivia Decor Paper Pen. For the sentiment - FUN FUN FUN sentiment - Whimsy's "Happy Things Pennants" I colored the pennants in red and blue -

This one makes me "happy" ! Hope it makes my SIL happy too!
