Animal Crackers - Donkey Hugs!

Howdy -

Well the weather has been really gorgeous here the past few days - first of the week we had some horrible storms and lots of hail.... Yes the Garden will be shown tomorrow and it ain't pretty folks. But today is all about lots of cuteness!!!

Now you will have to just let me go on and on about our baby Patricio... or as his we have been calling him "Pac Man" - He has so much personality and is just a total love...

He LOVES to give Donkey Hugs!

He puts everything into it! He leans so hard on you is front legs come off the ground! Wish you could see his little tail... it was going a million miles an hour! This is really fun, adorable and cute now.... as he get bigger and full grown.... well you can imagine! LOL

"Dad" is explaining that he is already getting big and gonna have to not lean so hard. In reality... Hubby loves it and wouldn't change a thing.... How freaking adorable is that furry face! PacMan... I am talking about, but I do love Hubby's face too...

Patricio then decided he wanted a close up...

It does let you know under those bangs he has adorable big brown eyes!

Snapped these yesterday morning.... PacMan had already done a few laps around his little pen and was napping...

He finally did sit up for me. But you can tell he was sleepy still...

I know you might be bored with all my baby photographs.... but we are just so in love with this guy I just can't stand it!!

I did get emails this past weekend that some of our goat kids that went on to new homes ... Well they are Moms! And a DAD!!  Lady Di - Camilla - Betty all have had babies this last week!! And there is one proud Dad that we know as well!! Peter!!! I have gotten a few first born photos... I will see if we can get some bouncing photos to share next week! So proud - these are all some of our prettiest kids and they though we miss them, they have a fabulous new family home and now have babies of their own!

To end.. I did snap one really sweet photo yesterday ----

Miss Chica ... she is just so beautiful. She was watching the donkeys off in the distance running - If you note.... her "baby" The Flea was right there behind her. Always is close...

We have been letting Patti and PacMan out into the large pen during the day with all the girls... so I probably will do the same as I did yesterday and spend time going in and out to check and make sure all is happy - I know I am a dork... LOL

Have a blessed wonderful day -

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Anything Goes!

Howdy -

Today is the Monthly Whimsy Stamps Challenge and this month it is an Anything Goes Challenge. Easy this month huh? Was good for my since my brain is mush... and I a bit sore. You see... I am a klutz and with the no depth perception it adds to the accident prone dork that I am. Yesterday I decided to totally miss a curb. Right foot found it fine. Left foot didn't do so well with the height... So me, my drink and an ice cream went flying across the sidewalk, landed on my knee then hit the wall. Was so graceful let me tell you. OH no worries I am fine, could have been much worse and I could have broke something, but just some scrapes and bruises and old body aches. Hubby really worries about me and I tell him to stop I am just fine... then I go and do dumb things like miss a curb. Duh.... OH well I thank God I am not hurt too bad and now on with life.

As soon as I saw this image I had an idea for this card. A fast card that could really be versatile. This is Zebra Hugs from Miss Rach's Digital Collection

I loaded the image into Adobe Photoshop and printed it in a medium brown color. I printed onto a card stock matching the dotted pattern paper....

Now my thinking is, how darn cute would this be for baby shower invites? You could even do them in different colors, just match up the papers... print on pink with pink dots! I added a satin ribbon, then added some Viva Decor Paper Pen Brown Dots in the corners. Seriously fast card. And I love it.

Was so excited I forgot to photo the inside of it. oops.. But it is exactly the same as the front but no zebras inside.

Now you need to pop over to the Whimsy Stamps Challenge and see all the DT cards, lots of cards to get some inspiration. Then join us for lots of chances to win Whimsy of your own!

Really busy today... gonna have to forget the aches and pains and catch up around here. Seeing the Zebra Hugs makes me think I need to head out and Hug on baby Patricio first though! ;0)

Have a beautiful day - and watch out for those high curbs!

High Hopes Challenge - Anything that Hops!

Howdy -

Today is the High Hopes Challenge and todays challenge is "Anything that Hops" - I have been wanting and excuse to ink up one cute High Hopes Stamp that I got a while back...

This is "Busy Mama" And I do believe she has lots that hop!

I colored with my Copics - and then used Graphic 45 papers with it. Some Whimsy lace, and some decorative tape for a border. Then lots of mulberry flowers. The sentiment is also from High Hopes - "Hare Raising" I love it!! Great for a Mother's Day Card or a baby shower don't you think?

Inside I used left over papers -

Here are the Copic Colors used -

I am so loving making Spring cards!!! My favorite colors and season! WELL other than the allergies, bugs, snakes and weather that creeps up on you... Had a BAD thunderstorm here yesterday, LOTS of hard rain and hail!! Lets just say good thing I showed you the squash and green beans yesterday, as they are trashed today..... Hubby says they should come back... should...  pout pout.

Hope you have a great Tuesday and HOP on over to the High Hopes challenge and see all the DT work and then please do join us won't you?

Gardening Sunday - Squash and Zucchini!

Howdy -

Now I am really late today I know, but honestly Hubby and I both are so wiped out we have just been moving so slow and are just taking it easy today. I slept until after 8AM!! Holy Smokes haven't done that in forever! Guess a whole week of only 3-4 hours a night sleep and all the hours on the road caught up. Then the thought of making breakfast was more than my mushy brain could handle so we threw on jeans and sweatshirts and went into town for breakfast.

We are home now and finally made our way out into the  garden to see things in the light. I seriously have been a week since we have seen things. Hubby has been watering in the dark at night after the show this last week.

WOW things have grown!! The little bit of rain we got last week really was a blessing and all the veggies and fruit trees enjoyed it. Well... the green beans enjoyed the rain, but the wind from the storms did a number on them. They should recover well though...

But the squash and zucchini ... oh boy are they happy!

Check out the baby squash already!!

And they are all like that!

We have three varieties with the squash and zucchini -

Zucchini-Black Beauty - Info at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds HERE - Hoping to pickle some of these for later in the year... pickling veggies will be new for us. Looking forward to it.

Fordhook Zucchini - Info at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds HERE ... these are suppose to be really yummy and provide lots of zucchinis to eat and share :0)

Early Prolific Straight neck Squash - Info at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds HERE - We have grown these in the past from plants, and did well.

Was so exciting to see that the squash did so well and are already producing.... but then we went in the greenhouse to check on the few veggies left to get out early this week.

UH the tomatoes were only about 2-3 inches tall last Sunday!

Hubby will be working tomorrow getting them all out into the garden! They are more than ready!! WOW

Then we headed out to the "orchard" to check and make sure all the wind did't do any damage to the trees.

Check out what we found!!

The peach trees are already growing lots of fruit! Now they still may drop as they are newly planted trees and young, but too fun to see! And if there are at least 2 that survive that will be better than our tree last year! There was only one that made it and Hubby enjoyed most of it before I got a bite. LOL Thinking in the future we will have more than enough so no one will do with out peaches.. apples... pears... plums LOL

Hope you are enjoying the garden photos - just so exciting!
Now ... I think I am going to go and start a loaf of bread in the bread maker and then take a nap. Sounds wonderful !

Have a wonderful Sunday -

Animal Crackers - Looking Back BABY!

Howdy -

We have been talking a bunch the past couple of weeks about "our babies". Especially the donkeys - with the birth of our first baby in such a long time we really have been totally enjoying the furry hugs and then thinking back to the past babies and personalities.

Now this entire past week we were doing Antique Show - we left long before the sun came up and got home long after the sun set. I am so looking forward to some home time this weekend, sleep and hugs from our kids! We have really missed our kids this week. They have all been checked on talked to and of course fed and taken care of by Hubby all week. But in the dark and quickly - so this weekend will be LOTS of make up loving... especially with baby Patricio!

Anyway we have been in the car a lot this week and talking about the babies - remembering funny times and how different and amazing each one was and still are.

Soooooo all this is saying it has been dark when out with the animals all week... I have no new photos to share this week.... and with all the talking about babies..... We are LOOKING BACK BABY!! Many of you will know most all of these kiddos ... but I am sure you will still say "AWE!" and enjoy each one again and again.

Starting with our FIRST  - Diego

Now I will admit - I was pretty dorky when we had our first baby arrive. Still very "City" they would say at the local Feed Store. I worried about everything with Diego. A few nights after he arrived we were expecting really cold weather... way down in the 20's and 30's... brrrr... LOL I drove all the way into town that night to the Pet Store and got him an extra large Dog Coat so he wouldn't be cold. He loved his coat... ok I loved him in his coat. I would come out in the morning and find it hanging under him, or being dragged behind him. He didn't need it - We have have had babies born in the teens since then and they were just fine. LOL But seriously ... how darn cute was he? Now he is one of the largest mini's we have. I gelded him so he could always remain here as a pet... our first baby.

Now with the arrival of Patricio we of course have been talking a lot about Sergio... My bottle baby -

His Momma Cheyenne died when he was 10 days old and it was a very tough time here on the farm. But Sergio and I bonded over meals every two hours - he too will always remain here. I think him and Patricio will be carbon copies of each other  -

We have one solid little girl here - Pepita

She is a tiny solid black girl. When Black Jack passes his solid genes he does it well doesn't he? She is on our for sale list, but will be a tough one to see go one day.

One of my special babies is Gabrielle - This girl is special to us and is also one of the handful of our babies that are one that we never want to sell.

When she was a few days old she got really really sick. Temps holding around 114! She nearly died. But we created a special pen up by the house, fans blowing on her, and she was dunked in cold ice baths every few hours. She also holds the only title of donkeys that have actually been inside the house. At one point she spiked to 117 and she had to be in air conditioning... so inside she came! Once her little body figured out how to regulate her temps... she found normal ranges and now she is a very healthy girl. And a very Special girl as the Vet couldn't believe we got her through it -

One more baby to show off.... we have been talking about Jorge as well... This guy has the title as one of the funniest and friendliest -

He was born with this funny look in his eyes... you can sort of see it here... He is a tiny little man, from the minute he was born he has been hysterical - I am telling you a real comic. He is one that will untie shoestrings, pull on buttons, sneak up on you just for the shock. But he is a tough guy too.... he will take on any of the other guys. Especially Sergio who is more than a 1/3 bigger than him. He not only holds his own, but he at times get the better hand... or would it be hoof? He is on the for sale list as well.

I hope you enjoyed a little looking back - Sorry no photos of the new baby Patricio, but seriously, photos of a solid black donkey in the dark aren't much to see! LOL Next week I  will be back to normal photos... maybe donkeys - maybe goats - maybe chickens - maybe doggies - maybe cats.... you just never know who will be cute next week!

Have a wonderful Saturday - I will be back with Gardening Sunday.... but that post won't be until a bit later in the day... when we can get out in the day time and see how much the garden has grown this week! Will be a surprise for all of us I am sure!!!

Texas Bluebonnets!!

Howdy -

FIRST - I have to shout out a Happy Birthday to my Sister Melanie - She has aged again and is catching up to me... as I don't age anymore... LOL  Hope you have a great day Sis!!

Here in Texas our State Flower is the Bluebonnet - and every year at this time they can be found along the highways - fields - pastures and parks. But this year... WOW! It has been many many many years since we have seen the number of wild flowers that are blooming now.

Hubby and I have been taking the country roads and enjoying all the glorious colors -

Yesterday we were coming through the small town of LaGrange and near down town is their cemetery. I love old cemeteries! The history, the beauty, the art of the headstones... but this one at this time... Seriously Total Beauty!

Breath taking isn't it? If only we had the time to sit and enjoy it! I just had to share with you - hope you found it a nice nature break in your day -
