Just Magnolias - Beads maybe?

Now a fact about me to start off with. I am not a winter person. I really don't like the cold all that much. Cool is nice, but wet cold winter? Nope.... not me. And this week was the start of Winter here. Now I know it really isn't that cold yet, in fact the afternoons have been quite nice and sunny - but the evenings and early mornings... .brrrrr I am so cold!! And my Creative Juices have frozen up! I just sit there in the evenings and stare at my desk - I finally got something together, but I am just not happy with it. I think it is also because I keep stopping to peek over at Libbie and her growing puppies :0) I just can't focus!
Edwin came out this week for my card this week for Just Magnolias Challenge- I love this guy... I found him in my box and he hadn't been inked, and then remembered this "Hang in There" stamp... they so go together.  My pattern papers were from deep in my stash. I found a well loved stack of DaisyD's Snowflakes and Holly papers. I have really used most of this 6x6 stack up, but found a few sheets that were perfect for this card. They are sewed down with a simple straight stitch. Why is it that all of these "sailor" type of images I do in red, white and blue? LOL  The newspaper print is from my scraps box.
Colored with Copics, and then cut out with Nesties Label 17, I then matted with Bazzil Dotted Swiss card stock, and doodled around the edge.
This week is Anything Goes for the challenge at Just Magnolias... with an option to use Beads. Now I really wanted to use some type of beads- as that would be different. I pulled out seed beads, and tried to cover embellishments with white seed beads... uh... no now my desk and floor have seed beads all over the place. Big mess and the only place I got them to stick well was my fingers! I think I need to find some new glue... modge podge is getting older and is really thick and sticky.  So when that didn't work I found these larger beads and love the sparkle of them, so I took some jute string... as it was sitting on my desk, and just hand sewed them onto the card in two corners.

Now hop on over to Just Magnolias and check out some DT members projects where they didn't freeze up this week... WOW! OH and while there join us... and this week we are sponsored by the wonderful Ladies at Simon Says... so visit them too ;0)

Wish you could hear the puppies... they are so funny! They "talk" as they are eating. Especially Mini Libbie... she talks constantly while eating. Took some getting use to hearing it, we thought there was something wrong for the first few days, then realized it was happy talk.... and man are they happy right now! LOL ...

See you tomorrow for Animal Crackers - :0)
